For the Loaded Fries:
- 1 lb frozen French fries (or fresh-cut potatoes)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (if baking)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
For the Toppings:
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a blend of Monterey Jack & cheddar)
- ½ cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- ¼ cup sour cream or ranch dressing
- ¼ cup green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp jalapeños, sliced (optional)
- 1 tbsp hot sauce (optional)

Prepare the Fries:
- Baking Method: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss frozen fries with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Air-Fryer Method: Cook fries at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
- Frying Method: Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry fries in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Melt the Cheese:
- Arrange cooked fries on a baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and bake for 5 minutes at 400°F (200°C), or until melted.

- Remove from oven and top with bacon, sour cream, green onions, and jalapeños.
- Drizzle with hot sauce if desired.
