For the Croissant Bake:

  • 6 large croissants, torn into chunks
  • 1 ½ cups diced ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For Garnish (Optional):

  • Chopped fresh parsley
  • Extra shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prepare the Baking Dish:

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Assemble the Casserole:

    • Layer croissant pieces evenly in the baking dish.
    • Sprinkle ham, cheddar cheese, and Swiss cheese over the croissants.
  3. Make the Egg Custard:

    • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine & Bake:

    • Pour the custard evenly over the croissants.
    • Press down gently to soak the croissants.
    • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
    • Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until golden and set.
  5. Serve & Enjoy:

    • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and extra cheese if desired.
